Birthday, Excuses and Chocolate!

Chocolate – My biggest downfall! I really need to learn how to indulge without overindulging. I need to change my mindset and learn that you can have treats especially if its your birthday. Whats not OK, is to use this as excuse to ‘throw the towel’ in and give up. I’m not a quitter! I am ready to give myself a kick up the bottom and get back on my journey. I will be facing the scales tomorrow (wish me luck).  One of the main struggles with losing weight and eating properly is having to cut out the foods you […]

3 day mini cruise in Amsterdam – brothels, beer, bicycles and beyond

I recently returned from a 3day mini cruise in the buzzing city of Amsterdam. As an Amsterdam virgin, I had no idea what to expect – especially with its wild reputation. Brothels, beer, bicycles and beyond… Amsterdam is like a lighter, airier, waterier, smaller, friendlier version of New York. I am yet to visit New York – but I look forward to comparing the similarity in the near future. Going back to the gym after a break & surgery

Finally I went back to the gym, and got back on my weight loss journey! Getting back to the gym after my gallbladder surgery was awesome. I was looking forward to returning back to my routine and feeling like myself again. Of course, for many of us, getting back into working out can be a little scary. Am I ready to start exercising again? Am I pushing myself too hard? Am I not pushing myself hard enough? Sometimes you have to take a break from training. The potential reasons for a long layoff from the the gym can be endless. Anything from sickness and injury […]

How do you kick start your first week?

How I survived my first week How I survived my first week – The first few days on any diet or healthy lifestyle are the most important ones. I, like many others, have a hard time staying motivated and focused in the first week and tend to fall off plan easily. As the week starts to come to an end, I think many times if I wanted to share this kind of post or not. Should my blog be only about the good? Should my blog only be about recipes? Is this blog little too personal? In the end, I […]
