30 things to do before I’m 30

So, 30 things to do before I’m 30 –  next year I turn 29. I know right?             Where has time gone? With the big 30 creeping up, I thought why not make a list of ‘30 things before I am 30’ but why you may ask? I feel that I have been letting the years pass by without ticking off things that I’ve been meaning to do but never got around to doing or had motivation for. This year has been one of the most difficult of my life, having been in and out […]

Being born and living with a heart condition…

This is a pretty personal subject matter for a blog post. Being ill lately has changed my outlook on life, the way I think and even kicked started some must needed changes in my life. I  have a need to write about it…  I was born with a congenital heart disease. It’s called Transposition of the Great Arteries. This is a condition which where the two major vessels that carry blood away from the heart — the aorta and the pulmonary artery — are switched (transposed). I had the senning procedure which saved my life otherwise I wouldn’t be here writing this blog post.  […]

Birthday, Excuses and Chocolate!

Chocolate – My biggest downfall! I really need to learn how to indulge without overindulging. I need to change my mindset and learn that you can have treats especially if its your birthday. Whats not OK, is to use this as excuse to ‘throw the towel’ in and give up. I’m not a quitter! I am ready to give myself a kick up the bottom and get back on my journey. I will be facing the scales tomorrow (wish me luck).  One of the main struggles with losing weight and eating properly is having to cut out the foods you […]

3 day mini cruise in Amsterdam – brothels, beer, bicycles and beyond

I recently returned from a 3day mini cruise in the buzzing city of Amsterdam. As an Amsterdam virgin, I had no idea what to expect – especially with its wild reputation. Brothels, beer, bicycles and beyond… Amsterdam is like a lighter, airier, waterier, smaller, friendlier version of New York. I am yet to visit New York – but I look forward to comparing the similarity in the near future. Amsterdam is full of canals and people riding bikes which mean much less traffic, less polution, less noise. As soon as you step into Amsterdam, you’re hit with the iconic views of […]
